SCS, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization receives no government funds; instead it relies upon its volunteer chapters who raise money through community involvement. 100% of the money donated to the SCS research fund goes to research only. This year, SCS made additional advancements with the development of a cellular delivery system that produces neurotrophins within the transplants. Additionally, a culture of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPC’s) has been produced. The second master combination trial begins this summer and will include these original contributions. Your contribution will help to raise the necessary dollars needed to finance this expensive medical research, allowing people who live with paralysis, realize their dream of walking again.

Etheridge's

Photobucket

Aren't they just adorable? I got to spend some time with the Etheridge family. Not only was it great to hang out with their Mom again, but it was fun to learn and observe the boys completely different personalities. We had fun walking along the sound shore looking for fun spots to stop and take pictures!

A Family Name...

Many families tend to keep a name in the family through many generations and not just men with senior, junior, III, etc. I had the opportunity to photograph a family made up of mothers-daughters and aunts-neices whom all share the same name as either their first or middle name.

Announcing... FINAO Albums

I am so stinkin' excited about these new albums I will be offering to my clients! After a thorough search, I have decided that one company embodies both the style and service of leather/traditionally bound albums. Finao, in my opinion, offers the best in beauty, elegance and versatility, ultimately delivering a unique album that is 100% you (ok, with some percentage of me mixed in somewhere). There are TONS of options to choose from.

When you select a Finao album, you will also choose your cover style, materials and colors from their vast collection. As you can tell from the images below, the possibilities are truly endless and I will be there every step of the way, offering as much or little advice as you need to ensure that you get a finished product that perfectly reflects your style. These images are of actual albums created by Finao.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

The Caudle Family

Meet the precious Caudle Family. Kelly and I met back at the beginning of the year at a Creative Memories conference and we've kept in touch because Kelly wanted some beach photos of her adorable youngins. :) We began this session at the Bodie Lighthouse and then made our way over to the beach. It was so much fun spending time with this sweet family.

Bodie Island Lighthouse

In 2005 Jeld-Wen windows and doors began a lighthouse restoration initiative by taking nominations of towers that needed new windows and doors. The public could then vote on the lighthouse they consider being the lighthouse that would most benefit from this award. This year, out of 49 nominees, Bodie Island Lighthouse is one of the 12 finalists. If (when) our NC tower wins, it will receive 8 windows and one door that are reproductions of the originals. Funding for the restoration of Bodie Light was pulled from the budget in December 2007. Monies for its restoration will be requested again, but it has been passed over several years and there is no guarantee that it will be passed this year. Any help from other agencies and companies will be welcome to lessen the $2.8 million dollar project and may better the chances of getting funds for Bodie this year.

Tyrrell County Mural

Thought you might want to see this awesome painting done by Barbara Fleming. She's put this image together to be painted on the side of the Ben Franklin building in downtown Columbia. It truly represents Tyrrell County. This mural goes to the planning board committee on Thursday for a second review. We've all got our fingers crossed!

They're Hitched!

So, I had an eventful weekend. As you all probably know, my best friend Bridget is (well was) getting married in October. That is until they got a WiLd hAiR and decided to forget all the planning and just get hitched- Saturday.

Just kidding! I repeat, JUST KIDDING! They're really not already married. However we did have this fun photo session of the two of them with Bridget's hair up and her veil on! She saw a really cute idea at a wedding she went to a long time ago and wants to incorporate that into her wedding. Guess you'll have to wait and see how these pictures are used! :)
