Hunter & Georgia: Part II

The next day I met Hunter & Georgia again at Somerset Plantation in Creswell, NC. Here we focused on Georgia and her love for her dolls and tea parties!

While Georgia changed into another outfit, Hunter jumped in on the action too (minus the dolls and tea set!) :)

Giving is Awesome...

I joined forces to help the organization, Giving is Awesome, last year but I'm having trouble locating the website this year. Unfortunately it may not be an "official" organization any longer, but that doesn't mean that Megan Lane Photography still can't give back!

I'm sure that you know someone. Someone who has experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating circumstances. A family that can't afford custom photography, but would LOVE to and who deserves a year round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

Well, I want to know who they are!

The winning nomination will receive over $250 in custom photography, that will include a session fee, 16 wallets, CD of 5 of their favorite images, and a 8x12 standout mounted print with a cute stand to display it on.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $50 print credit.

The rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services.
* The nominee must reside between the Raleigh area and the Outer Banks area along highway 64. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
*You must email me the full story: megan (@) meganlanephoto (dot) com and the subject line should read "Giving Back"
*Entries must be received by Tuesday, March 1, 2010. The winner will be annouced Wednesday, March 9th!

Hunter & Georgia: Part I

Just realized that I hadn't post these images from a session before Christmas! These sessions were two of my favorites this year.

Hunter is in to trains. Georgia is into her dolls and tea parties. So, why not have a photo session including these things? I met up with Hunter and Georgia two days in a row. First at some train tracks where Hunter was the star of the show and then again at Somerset Plantation where Georgia had her party! These themed sessions were so much fun! If you're planning a session and are stumped on a location, try something like this.

Here are a few images from our first time together at the train tracks...

Georgia even jumped in for a few images on the tracks too!

Erin & Marc: Engaged | Raleigh Engagement Photographer

I have know Erin for quite a few years now. Her and Marc met just over two years ago and just before Christmas I got a text from her announcing their engagement! I was so excited for her! Not long after, we began discussing their engagement session and their Save the Date cards to announce their upcoming October wedding!

We met downtown Raleigh last weekend for their shoot. I was excited to see them and to see what sort of goodies they had brought as they had lots of ideas of how they wanted their Save the Date cards to be sort of a play on words! I loved the ideas they came up with!

We first met at some railroad tracks that run through downtown...

Just one idea for their Save the Date card was to incorporate their wedding date in the photo somewhere. This is a cute one of the two of them and their date in the photo. There are a lot of other fun ones but I'll save those incase they want to use them for their cards! :)

Probably the most fun engagement session yet! Thanks you two! You rocked in front of the camera!
