Baby on The Way | NC Maternity / Beach Photography

I met up with Haley & Stuart in Nags Head while she was in town visiting her sister. Haley is sisters to one of my dear friends and was given a gift certificate for a maternity & newborn session with Megan Lane Photography! Haley was just glowing during their session and you can see the excitement in her and Stuart when they talk about their baby boy that will be arriving around the end of May/early June!











Haley & Stuart, Thank you for letting me be a part of this time of your life. I can't wait to meet the little guy! Enjoy these last few weeks of keeping him safe in your belly. He'll be here before you know it and will be starting college in December. :) Just kidding, but they do grow too fast!

An Afternoon at the Beach

I thought I'd take a break from all of the bunny madness to post a beach session that I had last Saturday. There's something about completely candid pictures of families playing at the beach that I just love. This is my Sister-in-Law, Brooke, and one of my adorable nephews, Crewe. Crewe loves the water and had a blast running along the beach!

Miss Averie

Miss Averie came to visit with me and my bunnies. Averie also just graduated from the "Grow With Me" Plan that Megan Lane Photography offers, because she just recently turned ONE. For her One Year images we had a fun cake-smashing session, and I can't wait to show you images from our yummy good time!

With Tucker & Brody we decided to use the first half of their session for bunnies and then the rest of their session for an outfit change and a few casual pictures. Here's a few images from the second half of our session.

Carsyn came to visit...

I first photographed Carsyn the very first year I did Easter Mini-Sessions and she was just a few months old. It was so great to see her again!

I asked my grandmother to come and help me so I could photograph my daughter with the adorable baby bunnies. It's really hard with a 10 month old and fast bunnies to get a good shot without having an extra set of hands. I'm so glad I took the time to do it!

Yesterday the clouds parted and i was able to do the first of many Easter mini-sessions that are scheduled. Take a look at these adorable boys!

Half A Year!

Remember this adorable little guy? Well time flies and he's now 6 months old! 6 months is such a fun age. A child's personality seems to be really starting to beam through at this point and they have learned to make all sorts of expressions. The light was hitting his amazingly blue eyes just right!



Love this serious expression AND the fact that there's drool. Who doesn't love baby drool!?!?




This next picture is my favorite from all the images I think. I have an image of my daughter from this same angle that is the background to my computer screen and will soon hang very large printed as a canvas on my wall!

"Take it or Leave it" Tuesday

So... yeah, I'm not good at this *every* Tuesday kind of thing. I tried, sorry. Things just seem to get in the way (i.e. babies being born, travel, appointments, sicknesses, yadda, yadda, yadda! :) So while I won't guarantee an every Tuesday as a "Take it or Leave it" maybe I'll atleast get around to it once a month! ;)



And this week's LEAVE IT's:
*Rain and Wind: The Albemarle Sound look like a hurricane is approaching in a few days. It's white capping at the piers and the waves are splashing over the bulkheads. I mean come on. It's rained and blown since last Wednesday. We did have a bit of sunshine which I LOVED on Saturday, but really? Can't it stick around longer than one day?? Hello, I have mini-sessions coming up and really need some sunshine and warmth!
*Virus': And not just computer virus. I mean those nasty stomach virus' that your 10 month old gets. YUCK! Last week my baby girl was pitiful! I've never felt so helpless in all my life. Thank goodness we seem to be on the mends!





And this week's TAKE IT's:
*Daylight Savings: Oh, man. A whole hour taken away from me? How dare you? Ok, just this once. Because in return I'm getting extra hours of sunlight! Score! I'm definitely glad to be springing forward to longer days and warmer weather!
*Packages: I love getting packages in the mail, surprise packages are great, but even if it's something I ordered and I'm expecting I get giddy! Its like Christmas! My favorite packages to receive are product orders. I promise that it's like Christmas everytime I open those. Whether it's a photo box, birth announcements, an album, you name it, I get that feeling of running down the stairs at Christmas to see what Santa's brought! Here's an image of a wedding album I received a few weeks ago!



Ha! Just a little teaser... I promise to show more of this album. So much time goes into designing an album to document that special day for a bride and groom. I plan to do more wedding posts coming up as wedding season is among us. Last year I didn't have a wedding season due to being pregnant and raising a newborn, but I'm booking up for this year quickly. I'm only taking a few more wedding clients for 2010 weddings so if you're planning on getting married this year or know someone who is, that doesn't have a photographer yet, I'm their girl! :)

Many Faces of Lexi

Lexi's parents were given a gift certificate from friends for a session with me! Lexi is 10 weeks old and makes the cutest expressions. Instead of posting photos like I normally do I thought I post a "Sweet 16" collage of some of my favorite images from Lexi's session. This "Sweet 16" collage is one of my favorite collages to design. It can be printed and framed or printed on a gallery wrap canvas as seen here.

William "Cooper"

Meet Cooper, little brother to Stokes, who was one of my very first newborn sessions. It's wonderful to be able to document a family as they welcome new additions. Whether its their first or second (or third, etc.) there's nothing like a newborn baby! Cooper was just one day shy of two weeks old for our session and he preferred to be awake to see what all the commotion was about!
