"The Evans Road blaze now covers about 40 thousand acres in Hyde, Washington, and Tyrrell Counties. They say containment remains at 40 percent. There are now about 450 people working to contain and put out the wildfire." (Source WITN-TV)

Even places as far as Raleigh are currently under a blanket of smoky haze as winds push smoke inland from the wildfire. This wildfire is the largest wildfire to hit North Carolina in 22 years.
